Comar Yachts is an Italian shipyard whose name until the 1970s was Sipla. It is synonymous with popular boating with sailboats of great ease of use, ranging from 21 to 100 feet. But it's not just that. From its beginnings in the 1960s, it has also been an innovative shipyard, with the use of fiberglass for its Flying Juniors. These qualities explain its success. Thus, for example, the Comet 910 released in 1971. This habitable monohull cruising sailboat of 9.10 mt was designed by the naval architect Van De Stadt Groupe Finot. The collaboration with Groupe Finot continued and gave birth to the Comet series renowned for its line and finish: the Comet 910 plus, the Comet 860, the Comet 850... crisis of the 1990s and is facing difficulties. The Italian manufacturer was bought by Massimo Guardigli in 1998 and returned to success thanks to a range of monohulls manufactured individually in addition to series production. The shipyard's activities are gradually being oriented towards multihulls and a new brand: C-Catamarans. A la carte boats for a demanding clientele, these are the objectives of the Italian manufacturer. He secured the collaboration of talented naval architects, including the Frenchman François Perus. The young designer recently designed the C-Cat 48, whose characteristics are speed, comfort, safety and elegance.
