The fascinating story of the Kirie shipyard began in 1912 in a garage, rue de la Forêt in Les Sables d'Olonne, in Vendée, France. The Kirié Family first devoted itself to the construction of small wooden pleasure boats. In the 1950s, production diversified towards motorboating. At the end of the 1960s, the yard launched the famous fishing-sailing boats called the "Fifty". The company continues its development and settles in the Château d'Olonne, very close to Les Sables d'Olonne. Subsequently, the "Feeling" range, released in the 1980s, contributed to establishing the success of the Kirié shipyard. It was the Feeling 13.50 sailboat that won the Route du Rhum in 1986 in the production boat category. In 1987, the Feeling 10.90 was voted "Boat of the Year". The "Feeling" are habitable sailboats for fast cruising, which have become a reference for lovers of coastal or semi-offshore navigation. Sailors particularly appreciate their performance, flawless comfort and the quality of the finishes. It should be noted that Kirié is one of the only ones to offer integral dinghies, allowing access to shallow anchorages. In 2000, the Kirié shipyard was taken over by Alliaura Marine, which continued to develop the range of Feeling sailboats, still as well designed, robust and pleasant at sea.
